98% of UK organisations yet to deploy proactive covid protection

Wash, rinse, repeat…

Welcome to this early July 2022 edition of the FeverCheckerPro eNews publication which brings you news, thought provoking comment, technology updates and, on this occasion, special summer pricing to incentivise everyone to get on board with proactive covid prevention.

Following relaxation of Covid-19 rules, more face to face contact and little Covid monitoring it’s no surprise that Covid-19 is on the rise again. Presently, infections are growing at an enormous rate causing many NHS hospital Covid-19 wards to become full again after several quiet months. Last week the number for new covid-19 infections was up 33% to 116,312, a headline cost to the economy in the region of £76M but of course, this does not include those people who did not register their Covid-19 illness so its actually more damaging than might first appear.

In these challenging times when costs and inflation are rising, it’s hardly a good picture to layer onto the immediate economic outlook the economic damage inflicted by hundreds of thousands of new Covid-19 victims. So, it’s back to wash, rinse and repeat as the Covid-19 contagion cycle goes around again, this time with the latest Omicron BA-4 variant. How do we break this Covid-19 cycle, is it stoppable? Whilst vaccinations have been an undoubted success, their effectiveness declines to just 34% in an older demographics after 6 months and they’re always playing catch up with the latest variants. We therefore need to move to implement more proactive containment and devices like FeverCheckerPro facilitate early intervention which is a catalyst for containment, helping stop the virus being transmitted to others.

We wrote in February about the arrival of new variants this summer and sure enough it’s the new variants BA-5 and BA-5 which are causing the trouble at the moment with greater transmissibility and severity. If we are to be able to manage and control this situation, and lets face it, its out of control, it is essential that all organisations proactively take measures to be vigilant to these new variants if we want to return to the normal patterns of our daily lives. It would seem appropriate to draw an analogy of FeverCheckerPro being the door keeper of Covid-19 management and without a door keeper the viruses are free to enter, spread and create disruption, just as they continue to do so today.

The problem: circa 98% of UK organisations don’t have protection

In our estimation 98% of UK organisations don’t have any covid-19 protection measures which is a shocking figure in light of having had two years of the virus. The 2% have been benefitting from highly effective measures such as FeverCheckerPro and similar temperature-based screening and protection systems. There’s an almost overwhelming sense of relief for people who work in these, covid screened, safe offices and customers who shop in protected environments. Company Directors and accountants take note that this form of digital technology based protection saves money too as sickness levels are lower and staff and visitors’ peace of mind and well-being translate into better mental health and higher productivity.

Research has found that everyone gets a fever at the start of a coronavirus contagion cycle, which can often be asymptomatic. A rising body temperature is therefore an indicator of the potential presence of Covid-19 but it could alternatively be sepsis, pneumonia, monkeypox, influenza or other temperature based serious illness. If someone has, for example a temperature continuously rising over an 8–18-hour period it’s pretty certain that they’re on course for full fever and need to seek medical attention. If they do a PCR test and it’s positive then isolation will stop it spreading to friends, family and acquaintances. This early intervention can also lead to less severity of an illness, less need for medical attention and be a catalyst for returning to normal sooner: simple really when you think about it.
